The Atrix was the first dual-core phone to hit the US, and even though it received a less-than-stellar followup at the end of the year last year, Motorola looks to be fixing that mistake with the Atrix 3. Now this is entirely an unsubstantiated rumor, however it is rather exciting and not outside the realm of possibilities given Moto’s track record of hardware releases. As you can see from the picture, the Atrix 3 will likely be loaded with a quad-core Tegra 3 SoC, 10MP camera with dual LED flash, a 3300mAh battery, 720p screen and even an insane 2GB of RAM. While I don’t understand why LG wouldn’t call this phone the X4 given that it’s a quad-core phone, the LG X3 probably derives it’s name from the chipset that it uses; Nvidia’s Tegra 3. Last year the Tegra 2 made it’s rounds as the first dual-core chipset, setting new performance benchmarks and having some seriously incredible support from the gaming development community. This year Nvidia continues to amaze with the first quad-core chipset to hit that market, and LG brings it to us in the form of this ultra-sleek and ultra-sexy device. Forgoing the standard Ice Cream Sandwich theme of virtual buttons, LG looks to have added capacitive buttons on the face of the phone below the screen, which actually brings the screen to a full 1280×720 resolution. Even more impressive is just how these specs stack up against the competition. Check out the scores using the new and improved Quadrant 2.0: (more…)

Vodafone Germany has plans to roll out the HTC Velocity sometime in the near future, and just in case you were wondering why the HTC Velocity looked so similar, as though you have seen it somewhere before, that is because this is at variant of the HTC Vivid LTE handset that arrived in the US last year over AT&T. Kellex over at Droid Life is citing sources in the industry that point to a White Samsung Galaxy Nexus landing on Verizon “in the very near future.” Interesting enough, but it looks like the white GNex is only sporting 16 GB of storage onboard, and remember that the GNex doesn’t support a removable SD Card, so 16 GB is what you get.
