Motorola Atrix HD launching at $99
In a surprise move for a seemingly flagship device, Motorola has announced that it’ll be selling the Atrix HD through AT&T at a $99 contract price.
We originally announced this phone as the Motorola Dinara back on June 8th, and now it’s being shown off as the Atrix HD from AT&T. Essentially AT&T’s version of the Moto RAZR, this phone one-ups the RAZR by packing a 4.5″ 720p screen, Kevlar construction, ICS stock on the phone and on-screen buttons. On-screen buttons are a huge deal because they provide even more customization in the long run when ROM developers are thrown in to the mix, as has been shown with AOKP on the Galaxy Nexus. Under the hood you’ll find a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, which is ramped up from the original spec leaks, however the camera has been downgraded from the rumored 13mp to a mere standard 8mp. This really is a shame, but going by the tag line on the AT&T image this is probably going to be poised as a business phone, and there’s plenty of businesses out there that don’t even like cameras being on the phone, much less a 13mp one. The biggest shocker is probably that $99 dollar price tag!
No word on release date, but considering that July 26 is still on the home screen, I’m thinking that’s probably the expected due-date. You can sign up with Motorola to get more info at the official page here. Specs below:
