Google Listen No Longer Supported

Google Listen no longer supported, it’s dead, gone, kaput. Google listen was my go-to app for podcasts when I broke free of my iPod Touch and got my Droid X. It did everything that I needed it to do, it searched podcasts well and it downloaded them. It also integrated well with Google Reader, and for awhile it just seemed like the perfect solution. However, once I tried Doggcatcher, I have not looked back, and it seems like I am not the only one to put Google Listen on the back burner.

You have some time although the search feature on Google Listen will no longer work on November 1st.

We launched Google Listen through Google Labs in August 2009, to give people a way to discover and listen to podcasts. However, with Google Play, people now have access to a wider variety of podcast apps, so we’ve discontinued Listen. People who have already installed the app can still use it, but after November 1, podcast search won’t function. You can access your podcast subscriptions in Google Reader in the “Listen Subscriptions” folder and download them from the Import/Export tab.
